AFCON
Anyone giving a shit about this? I’m not really but thought I’d stick Algeria vs Sierra Leone on the box. Benrahma on the bench but Feghouli(!) playing right back.

I see the BBC are carrying in with their ‘Salah is the only African player anyone could be interested in’ and are showing Egypt as one of their selections. Constantly referenced yesterday. MO SALAH (and Egypt) No doubt it’ll be all of Egypt’s games.

Not really taken to much notice of this competition up to now. If this current offering is anything to go by,i have made a wise choice.

Haller vs Salah today.

Hate Salah but would be handy if he were away for more Liverpool games.

Re: AFCON
If he was knocked out he should sit out for a certain number of days. At least a week
The quarter final is on Sunday afternoon and I imagine there is no chance he wont play.

Re: AFCON
I'm honestly baffled as to how Mane was allowed to stay on? One look at the replay and how he landed you could see he was KO'd.

Serious concerns if he plays another game in this tourny.

How many more times does football need a kick up the arse in regards to concussion?

Re: AFCON
Another classic tonight by the sounds of it. Mane concussed but stays on, then scores and then has to go off, while the opponents have two men sent off.

This tournament has hardly done much to sway the view of AFCON as a farce.

Ian WRIGHT and the likes of Eni Aluko will blame the stampede and deaths on WACISM and not proper funding

Tournament football is different to league football though - the time available to play the match is much more limited.

Re: AFCON
Understood the Premier league rule (not enforced seemingly) was that if you had 13 fit players incl a keeper you had to play.
The AFCON rule is if you have 12 (keeper or not) you have to play. One keeper injured & 2 with COVID. One of the COVID's subsequently tested negative but they made him sit out for another 5 days. Bonkers

Dodgy ref decisions and their fans crushing people to death forcing their way into the stadium .... Camerpool must be favourites now

Was split over the red card.

Looked fuck all in real time, but when you see the replay he clearly isn't anywhere near the ball and is just sticking his studs down the blokes leg not attempting anything other than a ropey foul.

Re: AFCON
Comoros not allowed to have a proper goalkeeper and then have a man sent off in the 7th minute for an innocuous foul.

If I were a Comoros supporter, I'd be crushed too.

They still went ahead with the match too. Unbelievable.

It’s like Sunday morning football when the keeper doesn’t turn up because he is hungover so the manager asks for a volunteer to go in goal.

COMOROS are playing Cameroon this evening without a recognised goalkeeper in the team due to covid protocols.

Seems fair.
